View the animation to install wrought iron fence panels between brick columns
Recommended fixings
- Our recommendation for brick fixing is quality masonry plugs and 14g batten screws. Alternatively 10mm coach screws
- The installer should use galvanised or quality externally rated screws.
- Dynabolts or chemical anchors should be avoided for the fence panels. They are extremely difficult to install in our fence panels - if using these methods you will never be able to remove the panel for future painting
- If fixing to timber posts – 14g batten screws, landscaping screws or 10mm coach screws may be used.
- If fixing to metal post, rivnuts and bolts would suit
- The installer is to ensure suitability of the fixing and substrate
General Tools Required
- General hand tools and basic power tools
- Spirit level
- SDS drill and bits
- A suitable marker
- Impact driver or rachet/spanner for the fixings. Recommend using a 6 inch impact bit to help with accessing the screw head. Some designs may require an angle adaptor
- A helper to assist lifting the panels
- Blanket or soft material to sit the fence onto while handling
Other tips
- When situating subsequent panels, cast your eye down the length of the panel to ensure they all follow a straight path and not zig-zag. If the spear tips do not align it can look quite poor.
- If installing many panels in a row we recommend locating the first and last panels and use a string line to situate the in-between panels
- You may wish to acquire a small touch up paint and apply to the screw heads
- Do not sit the parts down on the concrete or dirt as they will mark. Instead sit the parts on clean grass or use blankets / old towels. If your order came with packing material you could also use this to protect the part during handling
